Drawing and Painting Art Program

Start your child’s artistic development with our Drawing and Painting Art Program. Ignite their creativity while introducing them to the basic principles of art. 

Level 1: 4 to 6 Years Old
Level 2: 7 to 11 Years Old

Children have a natural desire to create. Our Level 1 Program is designed to help the youngest students combine that innate creativity with the basic principles of art. In this class, children jump into the process of creation, learn how to utilize art as a method of communication, and get hands-on experience with drawing and painting.

  • Artistic Mediums include sketching and colour pencils, marker, watercolour painting, acrylic painting and oil pastels.
  • Students are engaged in a well-structured program based on the Ontario Curriculum for Fine Arts. Students are taught about different Artists including Van Gogh learning their painting styles and how the used colours and techniques.
  • All Materials included
  • Duration 12 weeks
  • Fall Program 1. 5 hours once a week

  • Mondays, from 4:45 pm – 6:15pm
  • Sundays, from 10 am – 11:30am
  • Sundays, from 11:40am to 1:10pm

Level 2: 7 to 11 Years Old

$595 for 17 weeks or $665 for 19 weeks

We engage with higher-level techniques while emphasizing the connection between creativity and academics.

  • Artistic Mediums including graphite and sketching pencils, watercolour painting, acrylic painting, and oil pastels. As children become more developed as artists, they need to be challenged to continue their growth. Students will hone their style, making it more mature in both aesthetics and the manner in which it expresses feelings and impressions. We approach this course with a desire to keep children’s creativity alive while also making it easy to apply at school.
  • Students are engaged in a well-structured program based on the Ontario Curriculum for Fine Arts. Students are taught about different Artists including Van Gogh learning their painting styles and how the used colours and techniques.
  • All Materials included
  • Duration- between 17 or 19  weeks long
  • Fall/Winter Program 1.5 hours, once a week

  • Thursday Sept 7, from 4:50 pm – 6:20pm
  • Saturday Sept 9, from 10am to 11:30am or from 12 pm – 1:30 pm

Level 3: 12 Years up

$855 | 19 weeks

As children get older, they are ready to integrate more challenging concepts into their art. We begin working with design fundamentals in mind, including color, form, line, shape, space, texture, and value. This program will guide students to create and understand increasingly more complex works of art.

  • Artistic Mediums including graphite and sketching pencils, charcoal, watercolour painting, and acrylic painting.
  • Students are engaged in a well-structured program based on the Ontario Curriculum for Fine Arts.
  • All Materials included
  • Duration 19 weeks
  • You can join program at any time! Fees will be pro-rated
  • Fall/Winter Program for 2 hours, once a week.
  • Wednesday, Sept 6, 2023, from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
  • $45 per class

Character Design for Comics and Animation

Students will practice outfitting each character with costumers, equipping them with props, and designing the universe they exist in. By the end of this course, students will have formed the base of their comic book series employing techniques professionals use.

Sequential art is challenging, creative, and brings the worlds of art and literature together. This course will teach students to explore the world of comic arts.

Portfolio Classes

 
During our Portfolio Classes we focus on improving key skills, helping our students to create higher-level works of art to create a portfolio that can be used in the university application process. It is tailored to the needs of students who are ready to apply to art-related university programs, including fine art, graphic design, animation, and architecture.

The instructors for this class are professional artists with many years of experience in this field and have graduated from major art institutions in Canada.
